I've been crafty from a very young age, Blue Peter was my favourite programme. My mum collected whatever bits were needed to make whatever was being demonstrated, bless her (but she knew it would keep me quiet for hours! ) She also taught me how to sew, knit, crochet, all things crafty! My earliest memory is at 5 making a khaftan for my 6 inch teddy, which I still have!
After leaving school I made the crazy decision to do an apprenticeship in Painting and Decorating (City and Guilds qualified). Not the easiest job for a young girl but I learnt so many crafts like special paint effects, gold leafing, stencilling and others which I still use now. At present I up cycle furniture but that's another story. I haven't changed at all!
While flicking through the TV I came across a demonstration on making a beaded necklace. I quickly grabbed scissors, thread and a perfectly good necklace which I cut for the beads and clasp and made a new necklace to my own design. I was chuffed! I bought a kit, containing all the gem stones and findings and I was Hooked! Since then I have built up a vast selection of gem stones and created many unique one off pieces of jewellery and some everyday jewellery, some I've put in my shop and some are yet to find their way!
If you favourite my shop you will get notice of when I upload more pieces.
I appreciate the healing powers and energies gem stones are said to have so I try to add this information to each piece, where relevant, along with the relating chakra and birthstone.
It was a hard decision to sell my jewellery but it has been made easy thanks to Etsy!
